Peak Performance Psychologist
Elizabeth Lombardo, Ph. D.
“I joined the board because, as a psychologist and mother of two children dealing with the progressive loss of their father for over a decade, I know the pivotal importance of getting support and tools to help you cope with challenges. I’m excited to contribute to expanding Rainbows’ impact and helping children heal, grow, and thrive—not just in the moment, but in ways that create lasting emotional and social change for their futures."
By day, Elizabeth Lombardo (or Dr.E, as her clients call her) works as a peak performance psychologist, where she focuses on helping athletes, executives, and even everyday people get out of their own way and operate at their best
With a Ph.D. in psychology and a master’s in physical therapy, her background involves 30 years of working with clients. She is also a professional speaker and national media expert with multiple appearances on shows such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN and Fox Business News.
Elizabeth brings clinically grounded, uplifting and deeply compassionate energy to the board and is especially passionate about the Rainbows mission because her two daughters have lived with her husband slowly declining for over 11 years with ALS.
When Elizabeth is not working or attending board meetings, you can find her traveling for her speaking engagements, getting in a good workout or hanging out with her 4-legged son, Bailey.
One fun fact about Elizabeth is that, when she first met Michelle Obama, she tripped and fell so severely that, had the former first lady not caught her, Elizabeth would have face-planted right on the floor. She certainly knows how to make a first impression!
