Executive Vice President, Avison Young
Tom Curtis
"I joined the board because I wanted to give back to a grief support system that provided my family the opportunity to start the healing process when I was a teen, and I’m excited to contribute to the growth of Rainbows so that individuals can understand the grieving process in order to learn to overcome emotional hurdles as opposed to getting dragged down."
By day, Tom Curtis works as an Executive Vice President at Avison Young, where he focuses on understanding client’s commercial real estate needs in order to provide customized advice that underpins intelligent and informed decisions. His background includes 12 years in commercial real estate including involvement with industrial development in the Pullman neighborhood and many different projects in the Chicago area as well as the Midwest.
Tom brings purposeful, sustained, and spirited energy to the board or council, and is especially passionate about the Rainbows mission because of his involvement as a teen with a retreat that became a building block for Rainbows
When Tom is not working or attending board meetings, you can find him golfing, bicycling, barbecuing, volunteering, and spending time with family in Michigan.
One fun fact about Tom: Spent 20 years trading in the pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange before transitioning to real estate.
