Paula Carter Bass started with Rainbows for All Children in September 2017 and serves as the Volunteer Coordinator/Administrative Assistant. Her responsibilities include everyday office administration, which includes answering the phones, replying to emails, greeting clients, maintaining files and records, onboarding facilitators and assisting Stephanie and Laura with projects. She works closely with facilitators to troubleshoot and answer any training or technical issues, and provides on-going support to both seasoned and new facilitators. She also works closely with family members or other community organizations who are looking for existing Rainbows groups or wanting to start new groups.

Paula had been in the retail industry for over 20 years serving as store managers and district managers for some major women’s retail brands. Her experience with customer service, marketing and sales lends well to Rainbows where it is utilized in developing relationships with vendors and clients. Most recently, Paula worked with infants in a child development center for 4 years here in Evanston helping develop curriculums and activities to assist infants and their families reach their targeted milestones.

Paula grew up in the Chicago suburbs, spent 10 years living in San Francisco after attending college in Texas, lived in Evanston for 16 years and currently resides in Wheaton, IL. She has a daughter, Georgia, whom she is raising alone along with support from family and friends, after losing her husband to cancer in 2015. This is just one of the reasons Paula is so passionate about the Rainbows organization, understanding first-hand the importance of children having support when grieving a loss.

In her free time, you’ll find Paula at the beach with her daughter, reading, going to outdoor concerts and playing Pickleball.
